COLOUR + PLAY AUGMENTED REALITY APP

Volvo tasked Cassette with a challenge of keeping children entertained in kids areas, during retailer events, while their parents were occupied with retailer staff. Cassette came up with a solution to combine the nostalgia of colouring in, and using a digital element; augmented reality.
We created an app which used the coloured in picture as a trigger and encouraged the children to use the tablet to bring their drawing to life, exploring their car further. There were six interaction buttons that the children could engage with; open and close car doors, toot the horn, open the boot, open the bonnet and check out the engine, and finally they were able to press a button and see their car drive on a virtual road. The app was launched onto 200 tablets and proved to be a huge success across retailer events.
